Analyzing Records
The Panjiva API provides convenient analytical operations which enable the summary of an entire set of records, without the client having to download the entire set of records to perform this compilation themselves.

Not every analytical function is available for each type of record. Please review the endpoints available for each type of record to determine what is available.

| Metrics | Metrics are available on most endpoints as a way to additionally analyze the value of certain fields. | What was the total estimated USD Value of all shipments that matched the specified criteria? |
| Rollups | Rollups categorize records against the top values of specific fields up to 3 separate times. | Which shippers handle the most USD Value of shipments, for the most common shipment HS-Codes, at ports which handle the heaviest shipments? |
| Refinements | Refinements provide the top values for a set of specified fields to help better explore the dataset. | For shipments that contain clothing, what are the top ports, top origin countries, and top destination countries? |
| Time Series | Time series will bucket metrics calculated against shipment records into specified time intervals. | What was the shipment volume of a specific port for every week of 2022? |
| Company Networks | The Company Network endpoint aggregates the top trading partners for a particular company. | What are the top 100 companies that ship goods to a particular company? |
